What causes stress?

An insufficient intake of oxygen plays an important role in creating stress.

And the less oxygen you take in, the less you breathe out carbon dioxide and other toxins. Thus your system gets clogged and you wind up with “brain fog” – the inability to think clearly and stay focused.

Tight muscles and bad posture also play a role in creating stress by inhibiting blood and oxygen flow to your brain and the rest of your body, which leads you to magnify the challenges you face. Thus you wind up fixating on your potential problems rather than focusing on your potential solutions.

Our programs will teach you how to correct your negatively oriented habits, and develop new healthy habits, step by step, little by little.

Are you ready to begin to explore how to slow down and enjoy your life more? If so, you can try one of our free exercises, and I will be waiting for you in our Community Forum to help you in any way that you need.

There is a direct relationship between excess stress and poor health

My clients regularly tell me that stress is one of the biggest challenges they face, both personally and professionally. Stress effects your physical health, emotional well-being, and productivity.

stress management can help you avoid dark tunnelsStarting out your way forward might not seem clear

Medical research from the University of Maryland-Medical Center suggests that 80% of all illness and half the sick days from work are stress related. High levels of stress over a long period of time can lead to:

  • High blood pressure
  • Heart disease
  • Weakened immune functions
  • Impaired cognitive performance
  • and the list goes on and on!

The good news is that medical research also shows that when you engage in mindfulness meditation techniques and learn how to better handle life’s many demands, you can restore your health and sense of well-being.

In our programs you will learn how to focus on the positive benefits stress can offer you. If you would like to know more about these positive benefits, please listen to our podcast titled “Tapping into the benefits of stress”.

Are you ready to begin your exploration? If so, you can listen to one of our free introductory exercises. You can also learn more about our Traditional Japanese Stress Management program

“I used to think that stress was inevitable, given the job I have. That I was just going to have to learn how to live with it. Since beginning your course I now realize that I have a choice. I realize that I play an active role in creating my stress, and that I can also play an active role in lessening my stress. Thanks so much for this important learning!” —  S.B., Singapore

If not now, when?

The most important factor in lessening the negative effects of stress in your life is taking action. And the action you take can be enjoyable and rewarding right from the beginning.

If you are feeling stressed you are likely also feeling that your plate is already full. You might hesitate to start something new. But telling yourself you need to change, and then doing nothing, will likely only compound your sense of anxiety.

Here and now you can change, by taking part in a mindfulness program that is energizing and helps you to regain your self confidence, health, and emotional balance.

By taking twenty minutes out of your day to engage in slowing down, you will gain time by spending the rest of your day more efficiently. The slower you go, the sooner you will reach your destination. This might sound counter-intuitive but it is true!

You can break through your inertia and finally start to feel the calmness you have been yearning for. You can start today, and begin to notice how good it feels to finally slow down and feel more in control.

If now is the time for you, you can begin by listening to one of our free offerings. I will be waiting in our Community Forum to give you any help you might need.

“This work offers great insights into the unity of mind and body in clear, simple language that is immediately graspable. The practices  are simple, doable, and slowly yield profound changes.”  — Cheryl McCarron, Canada

Use more of all of yourself

Mind — and thus intelligence — are present in every cell of your body.

If you are to be healthy and emotionally fulfilled, the thinking mind in your brain needs to work in harmony with the mind of sensation and relationship that resides in your body.

You have millions of neurons and pathways in your system, that are currently underutilized. You are likely only using about 10% of your total capacity, and thus you experience mental and physical fatigue. When you use more of your available resources, you will experience the need to change as a challenge you are capable of handling successfully, rather than experiencing fear of failure.

You have millions of out of work neurons that would love to be activated! Don’t some of your best moments occur when you are totally involved and focused? Our programs will help you to retrain your brain, so that you can use your whole self to enjoy your whole life.

We have designed our programs so that they are easy to engage in. People report enjoying themselves because our exercises help to calm and refresh them.

If you are ready to use your whole self in a more graceful manner, you can listen to our free “Mushin Breathing” exercise and get a taste of our way of helping you.

“My doctor tells me I am psychosomatic. Over the course of my life I have had many aches and pains that have never ceased to worry me. Now, I have started to change. I still likely have more aches and pains than the average person, but the intensity has lessened considerably and I am worrying less. This is a great beginning, and I look forward to more!”

rest easy at the end of the day with a stress management programRest easy at the end of the day…

When you calm your thinking mind, you can see the true face of reality.

Like the image of a full moon
Reflected on the surface of a lake
On a mild summer’s evening.

When your thinking mind is calm, your heart is also calm.

You can hear, see, and feel,
More pain, joy, love, and suffering.

Empty your thinking mind,
And your life will be full.
